Big Brother Africa fans get to watch Gaetano in the UK

In a Big Brother global first, African audiences in 42 countries have become the first to watch two Big Brother shows simultaneously for 24 hours, live, on two separate channels, namely DStv Channel 37 (Big Brother Africa) and DStv Channel 41 (Big Brother UK).

The unique agreement secured by MultiChoice saw the broadcast from noon, 25 June 2003, until midnight on Friday, 27th June 2003. This broadcast coup has come at an opportune time, with the unexpected switch of contestants between Big Brother Africa and Big Brother UK having taken place just days ago. Uganda's Gaetano has already been rattling the Big Brother UK cage and flirting with UK contestant Nush, and Big Brother Africa fans will now be able to follow his antics live.

Gaetano is due back in the Big Brother Africa house on Friday morning, 27 June and UK housemate, Cameron Stout, will return to the UK house at the same time. Channel 41 will continue to broadcast for almost 12 hours after Cameron's return to keep African viewers tuned in to find out what he thought of his experience.

Comments Carl Fischer, Director of M-Net Local Productions, "It's something that we could not resist doing. We analysed the logistical challenges and then went ahead! The opportunity to give our subscribers more entertainment and a complete picture of the Big Brother Africa/Big Brother UK swap was one not-to-be-missed!"
