The Big B and Videovision set to make history

Anant Singh's company Videovision Entertainment, in association with Sahara Television and Sugar Mill Casino, has teamed up with the legend of Indian Cinema, Amitabh Bachchan to stage the largest live stadium extravaganza ever in the history of Indian entertainment.

The show will feature India's top film stars, led by Bachchan and will also include Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Sushmita Sen, Rani Mukherjee, Shilpa Shetty and Preity Zinta. It will be compered by popular Indian pop star and upcoming actress Rageshwari. The show, titled Now Or Never Live - Durban! will take place at 7.00pm on Saturday, December 28, 2002 at ABSA Stadium in Durban.

This event marks the first time that so many popular stars will perform together in one show and its magnitude can be compared to three individual shows combined into one mega-show, the likes of which has not been seen anywhere in the world. The main performers will be supported by a ninety-strong troupe of artists which include leading playback singers, the popular Viju Shah Orchestra comprising of 18 musicians as well as 25 dancers and 6 chorus singers.

Videovision Entertainment previously staged the South African leg of Amitabh Bachchan's World Tour in 1991 which was seen by more than 100 000 people in Durban and Johannesburg. This show was the first ever stadium extravaganza held in South Africa.

Anant Singh commented, "We are thrilled to bring this unparalleled spectacular outdoor event to Durban, our hometown. Bringing together the biggest stars in Indian entertainment could not have been done without the support of Amitabh Bachchan. We are honoured to be collaborating with Amitabh in this world first event which we hope will go on to tour other cities around the world."

"South Africa has always had a special place in my heart and from the moment of my first visit, I have been overwhelmed by its people and the many fans that Indian cinema has in the country, so it was a natural choice to hold the biggest live show featuring India's film talent in South Africa," said Bachchan.

"Fans can be assured that this will be the best show that they have ever seen as it is without a doubt, the greatest show on earth," added Bachchan.

Anant Singh also announced that Sun International's Sugar Mill Casino will be the headline sponsor of the show and that it would not have been possible in this scale without the support of Sugar Mill Casino. Sugar Mill Casino, which is known for being associated with major events as part of its overall drive to provide top class entertainment for its supporters.

"Sugar Mill Casino's sponsorship of the Now or Never Live! extravaganza provides a great opportunity for us to be associated with a unique blockbuster show that is happening in Durban. For us it is a way we are able to give something back to the largely Indian community that has supported us over the past few years." says Tristan Kaatze, Sugar Mill Casino's General Manager. "We believe it will be a spectacular event which will live long in the memories of its audience. The stars on the billing are world-renowned, top class performers who will guarantee us all a night to remember and we are proud to be associated with them."

Ticket sales open on Sunday, December 1 at Computicket branches countrywide at the following prices: R75, R150, R225, R300 and R450. The purchase of R75 tickets is limited to 10 per person.
