Survivor SA reward sponsors announced

Hyundai and Nando's are the Survivor SA reward sponsors, as announced by Oracle Airtime Sales. They join headline sponsor iBurst on the reality TV show being filmed on Pearl Islands in the Gulf of Panama.

Survivor SA broadcasts for the first time on 3 September 2006 in M-Net Open Time and promos have already started flighting on the channel, featuring the SA host, Mark Bayly.

More than 18 000 people entered the auditions for Survivor SA, and after concealing the contestants' identities for many months, M-Net has finally released the names of the chosen 14.

M-Net's head of original productions, Carl Fischer, says these contestants were hand-picked to turn the country's very first Survivor series into an unforgettable television experience. "They are attractive, strong characters from different walks of life that will each bring interesting dynamics to the show. As in every Survivor series, the mix of personality types in an unfamiliar environment is the fuse that ignites the explosions."

The group from all over South Africa ranges in age from 24 - 54, including an NGO skills trainer, a restaurateur, a medical intern who is also an on-and-off-actor, a rugby journalist, an FHM cover girl, a hostage negotiator and a creative, self-confessed kugel.

Survivor will be broadcasts on Sundays, with repeats every Friday, on the M-Net Series Channel, starting 9 September 2006 at 11pm. M-Net Series will also be repeating Survivor Africa on Friday evenings after Survivor SA.
