It's cloudy over SABC's Hlaudi
NEWSWATCH: And the SABC is back in the news... This time thanks to a 'damning' provisional report by Public Protector Thuli Madonsela on the abuse of power and maladministration by senior executives and former board members of the SABC, reports City Press. And Sanef has a word of advice for journalists who go into politics.

- City Press: SABC's Hlaudi Motsoeneng 'guilty'... Of not even having passed Matric? Ah... no... in this case the Public Protector reckons, according to the City Press Report, that SABC's acting chief operating officer, Hlaudi Motsoeneng, has abused his power and has acted unlawfully, and group chief executive officer Lulama Mokhobo is accused of "improper conduct".
According to City Press, Thuli Madonsela's report is essentially a litany of instances on the part of the South African Broadcasting Circus of bad management, wastage of money, maladministration, and - as mentioned above - unlawful and improper conduct on the part of a number of current executives, the former board, and Dina 'Hey! Check out my shoes' Pule.
And this is the organisation to which we, the taxpayers, have to give millions in tax bailouts and in licence fees.
- Sanef: Journo-politicians should resign, says Sanef... This makes sense. With the best will in the world, it would be very difficult to not have a feeling that any journalist, no matter how hard he or she tried, would have some bias towards 'their' political party and that this might reflect somewhat in their work.
