Cell C shares the love

Needy families in informal settlement in the Bloemfontein area will be cosy and warm this winter - thanks to Cell C's humanitarian initiative of keeping disadvantaged people warm as the chill bites.
Cell C shares the love

This week Cell C's Central regional office handed over donated blankets to New Beginnings, a non-profit organisation which provides hope and help to both humans and pets in need.

Its founder and President Emain Fourie received the blankets from Wiaan Vermaak, Cell's C Managing Executive for the Central Region, and Almero Colangelo, the company's Commercial Manager, who hoped the blankets will make a big difference in the lives of the community this winter.

New Beginnings focuses on a variety of charity work, mostly around Bloemfontein, Vryburg and Christiana, and its primary objective is to "BE the change we want to see in our community."

Fourie said: "We do this not only through our regular community outreaches and annual Christmas projects, but also through rescue and rehabilitation of needy, abused, neglected and starved pets. We have a Rescue Centre that is a safe haven for abused and neglected animals and from here we run all our projects."

The organisation also provides a stepping stone to less privileged families by helping to fulfil their basic daily needs by providing them with food, school supplies, toiletries and other commodities.

Fourie added that they were grateful and uplifted to receive blankets from the Cell C initiative which will help alleviate the cold and suffering many people will experience during the icy winter months.
