Jacaranda launches Montecasino studio

Jacaranda 94.2 has launched a satellite studio at Montecasino in Fourways, Johannesburg, which will serve as a brand outlet for the station in the city's northern suburbs by broadcasting in selected slots. Derek Richardson makes his debut with a show targeted at a weekend "party" audience, featuring hits from the 80s and 90s as well as popular contemporary tracks.

"The launch of a satellite studio at Montecasino signals another landmark in the station's growth strategy," said the station's managing director, Mike Siluma. "Not only does it provide Jacaranda 94.2 with a physical brand presence in one of our strategic target markets, but the synergy between the station and an entertainment mecca like Montecasino will provide many positive spin-offs and dividends for both brands. It is a winning partnership."

Broadcasts from the Montecasino studio include the Love Zone with Morne Zeelie on Fridays (19:00 to 23:00), Martin Bester behind the mic on Saturdays between 14:00 and 18:00, while Kieno Kammies will cover Sundays between 14:00 and 18:00.
