    Gillman for breakfast

5FM have confirmed that Mark Gillman has signed on the dotted line to host the Mark Gillman Breakfast Show on 5FM for another year. This announcement is in anticipation of the new 5FM programme line-up, which kicks into action on 1 April 2005.

Gillman is one of the station's most popular presenters and has achieved cult status through his irreverent, always creative approach to breakfast radio. Apart from various charity initiatives such as the Vinyl Frontier-parties for "Old Skool Is Cool" and the annual TeddyBear Patrol (benefiting underprivileged children), stunts with DangerBoy, revolutionary outside broadcasts et al, Gillman has also been instrumental in changing the face of local radio during the past eight years that he's been on the station's top youth radio station.

"Mark's audience has been incredibly loyal over the years, but interestingly we have also seen new listeners gravitating to the show - growth in all the right areas. I'm really looking forward to taking this relationship into another contract year," said Nick Grubb, 5FM programme manager.

The Mark Gillman Breakfast Show on 5FM is broadcast between 6am and 9am on weekdays. Reuben Goldberg is the newsreader for the show, with Bo "Black" Moseneke reading the sports news. Catherine and Dangerboy complete the team, with The Prophet as producer.
