Amon to babysit for Penny on Metro FM

Metro FM'S Amon Mokoena will be standing in for presenter Penny Lebyane, who is going on maternity leave. Lebyane usually presents The Ultimate midday show between 12 noon and 3pm weekdays.

Mokoena joined the Metro FM fold in April, taking over the reins of the Saturday breakfast show between 6am and 10am. He is relishing the prospect of “stepping up a gear” and presenting a weekday show.

“From being laid-back over the weekends, I'll now have to be as creative and energetic as possible during the week, because there's a different dynamic at play,” he says. “But it's a challenge I'm looking forward to taking up with both hands.”

According to Mokoena, “the ultimate midday experience” will retain several of Lebyane's regular features under his watch, but he is also hoping to stamp his own personality on the show while in the hot seat.

“Since I started at Metro FM, the listeners to the Saturday show have been very welcoming, and I'm looking forward to sitting down and getting to know Penny's listeners as well. After all, you're on radio to serve the people - to listen to what they want and invite input and feedback from them,” he concludes.
