The Park Inn by Radisson Abuja Kaura to open in 2015

The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has announced the Park Inn by Radisson Abuja Kaura in Nigeria, a full-service mid-market property which is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2015.

"Nigeria is a focus country for our business development. The country's economy is one of the fastest growing worldwide and we see considerable growth potential for our core brands, Park Inn by Radisson and Radisson Blu. With this signing we are bringing our portfolio in Nigeria to already eight hotels in operation and under development," said Wolfgang M Neumann, president and CEO of Rezidor.

Carlson Rezidor's Nigerian pipeline features Park Inn by Radisson hotel locations in Lagos, Abeokuta and Abuja. In the upper upscale segment the group is already present with a Radisson Blu in Lagos, and has two hotels under development in Abuja and Port Harcourt. On the African continent in total Carlson Rezidor now counts 51 hotels in operation and under development and has the largest pipeline of hotels in sub-Saharan Africa.

    A leading mid-market MICE destination

The new Park Inn by Radisson Hotel Abuja Kaura will be located in the Kaura district of Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria less than 25km from the international and domestic airport. Besides 150 contemporary and comfortable guest rooms, the property will offer a restaurant and bar, a club lounge and business lounge, meeting and conference facilities of 2000m², making it a leading mid-market MICE destination, a gym, a wellness spa, a rooftop bar and an outdoor swimming pool.

Abuja is Nigeria's fourth-largest urban area and is dominated by government activities and state-owned enterprises. It is known for being the best purpose-built city, as well as for being amongst the wealthiest and most expensive capital cities in Africa.
