Use Avios to book your accommodation

This means that members can now use their Avios to book hotel accommodation and towards flights with British Airways*.

This new partnership between Avios South Africa and the online booking platform Res24Seven offers Avios Travel Rewards Programme members access to a large number of participating hotels throughout South Africa, such as the Protea Hotel Group, City Lodge Hotels, Tsogo Sun Hotels, the Three Cities group, as well as exclusive game lodges.

"The expansion of Avios' offering puts the travel rewards programme securely in the consumer spotlight as a competitive offering and we're delighted to be a part of giving South Africans the opportunity to travel more often and book trips to desirable local destinations."

Options

There are up to three payment options available to Avios Travel Rewards Programme members: paying using full Avios required, paying using Avios and cash or in many cases, paying using full cash (and earning 1 Avios for every R10 spent). Participating hotels and lodges vary from three-star, budget friendly venues for the whole family to five star special occasion destinations.

"We're thrilled to offer our members another way in which to use their Avios towards their holidays," says Avios South Africa General Manager, Dries Zietsman. "The Avios Travel Rewards programme gives members the opportunity to collect Avios on their everyday spend by shopping at Pick n Pay, filling up with fuel at BP and using their Avios credit card. The money you save by using Avios towards flights and accommodation can be used towards holiday experiences or to travel more frequently."

In order to book that dream holiday, members can visit www.avios.com, click on the 'Spend' and 'Hotels' tabs, fill in their desired destination and choose from the range of hotel options available. They can also book via the Avios Call Centre on 08600 28467. A service charge is applied to bookings made via the call centre.

* With flights, a Reward Flight Saver (RFS) flat fee of R700 per person on a return economy regional or domestic British Airways flight, plus the Avios fare apply while regular taxes, fees and carrier charges may apply to international flights.
