Peermont announces new builds, upgrades

Peermont Hotels, Casinos and Resorts used Indaba 2014 to list news of R373m refurbishments, new builds and upgrades.

Their new casino resort Thaba Moshate Hotel, is underway in Burgersfort, Limpopo Province.

The 80-key three-star Peermont Metcourt Hotel, includes a casino with 150 slot machines, 8 gaming tables, as well as conference centre. Also included in the 6,295m² resort will be a 148-seater restaurant, showbar, teen entertainment area, pool terrace and boma. The resort is due for completion in April 2015 with bookings for the hotel expected to open later this year.

Upgrades at Emperors Palace theatre include plush new seating and VIP enclosure and increased capacity to over 1,000 seats. They also announced is a 400-seater Barnyard Theatre at Emperors Palace, opening in July 2014.

R4m went to Mmabatho Palms Hotel, Casino and Convention Resort in Mafikeng, while Khoroni Hotel, Casino and Convention Resort in Thohoyandou, Limpopo, will see infrastructure upgrades.

Peermont recently opened a new contemporary steakhouse restaurant concept, Karamba Grillhouse and the Moo Bar cocktail bar at Rio Hotel, Casino and Convention Resort in Klerksdorp. Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club, Secunda completed an upgrade of convention centre soft furnishings and a complete exterior painting makeover, with the room softs improvement project due later this year.

Peermont is spending R30m on its convention centre at Emperors Palace, recently awarded Best Convention Hotel in SA in the 2013 International Hotel Awards while their five-star offering Peermont D'oreale Grande Hotel at Emperors Palace, won Best Airport Hotel in Africa and South Africa.
