Technologies that future-proof your Toshiba laptop

There's no two ways about it, as affordable as laptops have become these days, they're still big investments. And, naturally, you expect to use them for years to come. But how do you make sure that yours doesn't fall by the wayside as technology inevitably marches on to a quicker and quicker beat? With future-proofed technologies, you can consider yourself safe for some time to come - and then some.

Super-fast processor

The surest bet for a machine that can keep pace with new tech and new software for years is a super-fast processor. With Toshiba's latest laptop lines, you get just that: models such as the Satellite P755, Satellite L775 and Qosmio X770 are all powered by Intel Core second generation multi-core processors, with enough power to multitask with even the most demanding applications.

Just as important for future proofing your laptop as the innards are the connections. Toshiba adopted the latest standards so you'll get super-fast file transfer: look for USB 3.0 and Bluetooth 3.0 on new Toshiba laptops for zippy file sharing, with or without wires, and memory cards support for the new, higher capacity SDXC memory card format.

HDMI connection for quick plug and play

You might not always want to use your laptop's screen with your laptop, which is where a screen output connection comes into play. While VGA ports are still common, you're only future-proofed with a HDMI connection built into your laptop, for quick plug and play, no screws required, and stereo sound and full HD (even 3D) image through the same cable.
