AxizWorkgroup helps Mould, Empower and Serve

Mould Empower and Serve (MES), a community development non-profit organisation, recently received hardware and software to the value of over R1 million. The donation was thanks to AxizWorkgroup, a leading IT infrastructure distributor.

The donation, which included laptops, printers, keyboards, mice, webcams, headsets and software from leading brands such as HP, Packard Bell, Logitech and Knowledge Adventure, is utilised in the different programmes of MES Johannesburg, MES Cape Town, MES Port Elizabeth and MES Kempton. Currently, these items are utilised by the Early Childhood Development centre where young children are taught basic computer skills; the After-School centres where children do their homework and school projects; and the Training & Job Placement centre where individuals get the opportunity to create CVs and look for employment.

    Empowerment through access to technology

"In this electronic age we live in, it is almost unthinkable to imagine people without access to computer technology. The AxizWorkgroup donation empowered so many people to step into the future - many for the first time. We are looking forward to a continued partnership with AxizWorkgroup in changing the heart of the city," says Francois Pienaar, executive manager of finance and corporate services at MES.

"In these tough economic times, it is important for communities to stand together and help each other wherever possible. We have great respect for the work MES does and we are honoured to be associated with them and for being able to help them reach their goal of empowering people to live independent, sustainable and meaningful lives," says Vaughn Parkin, chief operating officer at AxizWorkgroup.
