Copper worth R17,9-million stolen in June

Times Live says copper worth R17,9-million was stolen in June, down from the R23-million in May according to the Copper Theft Barometer compiled by the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Sacci).

The chamber says that 288 tons of copper were stolen by thieves in June compared with 356 in May, a drop of 19%. According to Sacci the lower volume and value of stolen copper indicates that thefts have dropped substantially, reports Times Live.
