The Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga has laid a charge against service providers who had been assigned to deliver Grade 8 and 9 workbooks in Limpopo but dumped some of the books.

"We feel this is now an act of sabotage and we call upon the police to arrest these culprits without further delay. These workbooks were not part of the court order to deliver textbooks by 27 June 2012," said Motshekga.

Motshekga said the department has been monitoring reports of some service providers colluding with other forces to ensure that the department fails to meet its delivery deadline. She has dispatched her team to Limpopo to further investigate and also lay a charge against the service providers.

"Last Wednesday, service providers failed to pitch to deliver textbooks on a very crucial day. We suspect that some of these service providers are clearly hell bent on embarrassing the Ministry," she said.
