SANRAL welcomes the appointment of Peters

Tembakazi Mnyaka, the Board Chairperson of SANRAL, said in a statement: "We would like to extend a warm welcome to Minister Peters and we are looking forward to working with her in pursuit of our strategic objectives to improve, maintain and operate the South African national road network."
Peters was one of several Cabinet members who were sworn in to office on Wednesday at the Presidential Guesthouse in Pretoria. On Tuesday, President Jacob Zuma announced changes to his Executive, including moving Peters from the portfolio of Energy to Transport. Former Transport Minister Ben Martins has taken over the Energy portfolio.
The Board further congratulated former Transport Minister Ben Martins on his new appointment.
"We are very grateful for the sterling leadership and guidance that Minister Martins provided in assisting the SANRAL board to carry out its mandate. We wish him well in his new portfolio," said Mnyaka.
The new Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs will be Lechesa Tsenoli, previously Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform. The Human Settlements portfolio will now fall under the leadership of Connie September, while the new Minister of Communications will be Yunus Carrim.
