Job creation - plans are unsustainable

Mail & Guardian reports that government plans to create five million jobs by 2020 will mean that employment levels will have to increase by 40% according to a research survey.

The Mail & Guardian report quotes researcher Lucy Holborn, who says that the increase in public sector employment is not a sustainable solution to South Africa's unemployment problems.

Meanwhile, the Sowetan reports that President Jacob Zuma conceded that the government has failed to create jobs despite its promises to do so. He blamed the global financial crisis for the lack of job creation in South Africa.
