Absa delighted with its accolade
The customer service survey, known as the Ask Africa Orange Index‚ is done annually among local companies.
Capitec was last year's winner.
Maria Ramos‚ the group chief executive of Absa‚ said for the bank to be chosen for its excellent service in banking was an accolade that meant the Barclays-owned group was on the right path to meet customer needs.
"This ranking is a great tribute to the loyalty of our customers and in the unstinting efforts of Absa staff. Our focus has always been on putting the needs of our customers at the centre of everything we do‚" Ramos said.
Absa‚ which commands the largest retail market share with nearly 12-million customers‚ has been restructuring its business to improve efficiency‚ cut costs and lift earnings‚ which were hammered by high mortgage impairments in the six months to June.
