South African MBA Programmes in the Top 200 in the World
Eduniversal ranked 10 African Executive MBA programmes among the Top 200 in the world. Of those, NMMU, UCT and Stellenbosch were among only seven Executive MBA programmes to receive a four-star rating, the highest possible grade.
Rankings for the Eduniversal Masters Ranking 2013/2014 are based primarily on a survey of recent graduates, taking also into consideration input from a professional HR firm on the employability of graduates as well as a School's overall Eduniversal ranking.
Martial Guiette, CEO of Eduniversal commented: "The education system needs to adapt to our globalising world. Students, professionals and universities are realising the significance of an education that stretches across borders and teaches future business leaders to think responsibly on an international scale.
"For this purpose, Eduniversal offers a platform of information for students that enable them to make the right decision regarding the choice of their future studies anywhere in the world.
"Eduniversal's Ratings and Rankings are built on the unique approach that goes beyond the already existing ranking and classification tools by adopting a truly universal and all-encompassing ranking methodology."
NMMU Business School Director Professor Steve Burgess commented: "Rankings are important indicators used by prospective students when selecting a business school for MBA studies. This accolade comes at an exciting time. In a few months, we move into our new world-class business school facility. It is the first South African education or public sector building to receive a 4 Green Star design rating from the Green Building Council of South Africa.
"We are delighted by the Eduniversal rating. The ranking confirms the outstanding work of our faculty and staff and the constant support we receive from senior leadership at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University."
In September last year, NMMU Business School were elected to the European Doctoral Programmes Association in Management and Business Administration (EDAMBA). NMMU is only the second Business School in Africa to be admitted to EDAMBA.
