Pirelli has produced more than 200 homologations that equip some of the Wolfsburg car maker's most prestigious models. In the prestige sector, cars supplied by Pirelli with original equipment include, among others: the Porsche Carrera, Boxster, Cayenne and Panamera, as well as the Lamborghini Aventador and Gallardo, the Bentley Continental GT and Flying Spur. The premium sector supplied by Pirelli includes the Audi TT and RS6 as well as the Volkswagen Touareg and Phaeton.
The partnership between the two groups is expanding internationally: as well as the European market, other key territories include Latin America, Mexico, China and joint business development in Russia and the US.
Pirelli also won the 2013 Volkswagen Group Award, the prize that the international car maker awards to its best suppliers. The Italian firm has been named as "Global Champion" by Volkswagen: a strong and committed reliable partner supporting the Volkswagen group.
The Volkswagen Group also underlined Pirelli's "firm commitment, competitiveness and ability to innovate, with the development of self-sealing technology underlining the company's technical know-how and ability to rise to future challenges".
