WIN and BWA Scoop: Oprah Winfrey, Children with Aids Benefit
At the helm of this benchmark occasion, is a director of the Addfuel
Communications group, Pat Dambe. The Women's Initiative Network (WIN),
headed up by Pat Dambe has been officially awarded the management of the
BWA/ Oprah Winfrey Benefit Brunch, and a phenomenal team comprising industry
champions will see the success of the event come to fruition.
In addition to Ms Dambe, the strategic WIN partnership also comprises
Director of Makwetla and Associates Angie Makwetla, who brings a wealth of
experience to the team due to her involvement in community upliftment
projects, Dr Erieka Bennett, Vice President of African Communication Agency
and international media specialist and Director of Events and Communications
for Makana Marketing, Suzaan Maree.
Says Ms Dambe " The WIN group are honoured to have been awarded the
responsibility of strategically managing this prestigious occasion. We
thank the BWA for recognising this powerful team. Our aim is to insist the
Oprah Winfrey Benefit is an unprecedented success, and having the support
and endorsement of Oprah herself in raising funds for children with AIDS
initiatives and investing in the economic future of South Africa gives us
additional confidence in knowing we are going to make a difference. "
The brunch is being held in celebration of Ms Winfrey's investment in the
South African economy through the launch of the O Magazine. In addition her
contribution to local communities will be highlighted as the celebration
encompasses a major fundraising drive, which sees Children with HIV Aids
Initiatives as the primary beneficiaries thereof. Say's National President
of the BWA, Dawn Marole, "We are simply ecstatic to be working with Jane and
WIN on this exciting and ground breaking event! On behalf of business women
in South Africa, we welcome Oprah, who in the spirit of camaraderie and
compassion is investing in the financial and human capital of our country
and in doing so, extends a powerful message around the globe."
