Pete Seeger joins Occupy Wall Street movement

Music legend, Pete Seeger, now in his 90s and armed with two canes instead of a guitar and a banjo, accompanied his grandson Tao Rodriguez-Seeger on a march down New York's Broadway as part of the Occupy Wall Street movement reports Associated Press.

The movement was affirming a message that Seeger has preached for decades: that song is the key to understanding and change. His presence at the march gave the protest movement something that it had seemed to lack during the past month.

Associated Press says that Seeger still takes delight in lending his name and presence to important issues. For generations his music found an eager audience since he first began performing in the 1930s when he dropped out of Harvard University.

Seeger made some iconic songs over the years including: We Shall Overcome, If I had a Hammer and Turn, Turn Turn many of which are still played today.
