J&B Start A Republic Party in Cape Town

The next venue in J&B's series of international party venues will be Cape Town on 25 June, 2011. The party will feature electronic music icon, DJ and techno producer Carl Craig, who will be supported by local artists Soft Touch Operation, Monique Pascall and Culoe De Song.

"The Castle of Good Hope has been chosen as the venue for the global J&B party in South Africa, because it marries a mix of old and new in a manner that comes together as an unexpected source of premium cool. It ties neatly into J&B's spontaneous attitude that sees party potential in everything. Here we take the old add the new, turn it on its head to create the most unconventional party in the world that brings a new wave of energy intent on nurturing a sense of progressiveness to the heritage of the brand," said Jody van der Heyde, brand manager of J&B in South Africa.

Interactive trees

Guests lucky enough to be given a key to Start A Party Republic can expect futuristic video mapping, facial recognition stations, a floating stage, multi-textured video dance floor, and even be able to download unique content from interactive trees as a keepsake to remember the experience.

J&B has a tradition of starting parties at iconic global locations, including the oldest continually inhabited city in the world, Byblos in Lebanon; World Heritage sites such as the ancient region of Cappadocia in Turkey and the Forbidden City in Beijing, China; as well as the majestic Cantacuzino Castle in the heart of Transylvania, an abandoned prison in Ushuaia, Argentina, and on a converted container ship in Spain that became Europe's biggest floating nightclub.
