"Against All Odds" music video

aKing's second music video from the 2010 SAMA-nominated album "Against All Odds" will be launched at Chevelle, Harrington Street, Cape Town on 22 July, 2010, at 8pm. There will be a cover charge of R50.
"Against All Odds" music video

The Against All Odds music video was produced and directed by Dean Leslie and Greg Fell of The African Attachment. With the music video for Against All Odds, said drummer Snake, the band felt "like doing something humorous, and we thought this song lent itself to that. We've also wanted to work with The African Attachment for a long time. This shoot was a lot of fun".

Dancing like a maniac

The video has, among many other things, Snake as a Goth and Laudo dancing like a maniac. "When aKing approached us, Dean Leslie and I spent a few days listening to the song and then started putting ideas together, said co-producer Greg Fell. We came up with a character who had absolutely no inhibitions and the concept pretty much grew from there. Our previous video (for Ashtray Electric's 'When Sex Becomes A Sport') was quite dark, so this was a good opportunity for us to do something totally different."

The video features actor Asher Stoltz, known from the All The Single Ladies Vodacom advert. According to Snake, Asher's on-set antics had the cast pissing themselves for two days solid. "We knew that the right actor was crucial to the success of the video," said Greg. "I'd seen the Vodacom ad ripping off All The Single Ladies. We auditioned the guy over Skype. He was perfect."
