Afro Café back on SABC 2

As of 20 April, 2010, the music show, Afro Cafe will be coming back on SABC 2. The show retains its 10pm slot on Tuesdays and welcomes back Stoan Seate, the front man of the successful group Bongo Maffin.

Afro Cafe is more than just a music programme - it blends the best music Africa has to offer with a talk show, artist interviews and up-and-coming musicians.

Now in its seventh season, the new and revamped Afro Café delves deeper into the nooks and crannies of the South African music landscape with the gems of the local music front as our guides, also showcasing South African music legends.

Seventh season

“We are delighted with the seventh season of Afro Café on SABC 2. The promotion and support of our home-brewed sounds and unearthing of new talent is a priority for the channel, and Afro Café sets the stage for that. We are also glad to retain the pioneer of Tswana rap in the form of Stoan Seate” said Lebo Malete of SABC 2 Publicity.

Join Afro Café on Tuesday, 20 April as they usher in the new season including Yvonne Chaka Chaka, belting out her favourite tunes and also songs from her latest offering titled “18/28”. Seate also takes us to the Lyric Theatre, Gold Reef City for a live performance by Freshly Ground.
