Jazz and soul at Montecasino
For the first time ever in South Africa Liz Ogumbo will be showcasing her diverse musical talents in an intimate setting perfectly suited to music as beautiful as hers. Mainly influenced by jazz and blues, her musical influences are based on what she perceives as her reality. She is a true performing artist and lyricist, as she writes and expresses her music in a modern way, which appeals to a wider audience, inspiring people and sharing day-to-day realities.
Global fashion icon
Already a well-known global fashion icon, her music moves people to find positive solutions to their issues. “My music is inspired by life and is heavily influenced by jazz and blues,” said Ogumbo of her music, adding: “Freestyle is the easiest way for me to refresh my musical energies.”

Joining Ogumbo is the legendary Bheki Khoza and the brilliant MXO, both well-known and hugely celebrated South African artists.
Sex appeal
MXO needs no introduction to South African Audiences - he has performed alongside artists like Blk Sonshine, Brenda Fassie, and Moses Molelekwa. Globally, MXO has collaborated with Grammy nominee Jamie Catto (founding member of Faithless) for the second One Giant Leap project, which brings together artists from all corners of the earth. With lyrics that celebrate life, deal with matters of the heart, are fully respectful of women and address issues like violence against women and the HIV/AIDS pandemic, MXO packs a powerful punch. Bheki Khoza
Bheki Khoza, the well-known left-handed guitarist from Umlazi, studied music with the jazz legend Jackie McClean at the University of Hartford, Connecticut. Whilst in the US Khoza was resident with Larry Ridley's jazz legacy playing the whole spectrum of African American music. By the time Khoza returned home he had already made a name for himself playing at clubs like Blue Note, Saint Mark's Zinno's and Smalls (a famous club often referred to as the “Mecca of Jazz”). Khoza also frequently played at the famous Shamberg auditorium in Harlem.
