MTV Base meets President Zuma, brings MTV Africa Music Awards

“MTV base Meets” is a half-hour show that gives the viewer a chance to meet some of the world's most important decision makers, musicians and actors. The nature of the interview is relaxed, but respectful and it asks the questions the young want answered.

So far “MTV base Meets” has sipped tea with Tony Blair, discussed economics with Morgan Tsvangirai, “politiced” with NAS and “reasoned” with Wyclef Jean.

Zuma to speak candidly

In a one-hour, exclusive interview MTV base's VJ Sizwe takes viewers on a personal journey with Zuma as he talks about growing up without a father in KZN, to being imprisoned on Robben Island. President Zuma speaks candidly on everything, from his supposed lack of formal education to his rape trial and his many wives.

Together with Sizwe, MTV base chose four young people from all over Africa to ask the President one question they've always wanted to know the answer to.

“MTV base Meets” is on DStv Channel 322 on Thursday, 10 September at 7.30pm. “MTV base meets” will also premier on the Terrestrial Zone on Wednesday, 16 September at 5am. The interview will be broadcast on 17 September on East Africa Terrestrial channels.
