Anchor sponsorship for Women's Day Celebration

Nedbank, M-Net and Pick 'n Pay recently announced their anchor sponsorship of the Women's Day Celebration, “Show Your Hands, Show Your Heart”, where for a few hours on Wednesday, 9 August 2007, members of the public are encouraged to donate their helping hands at a local charity. The event is being organised by Sho-Sho-Lo-Za Marketing.

In addition to the general public, Corporate South Africa is also being invited to make a difference for women and children as Nedbank, M-Net and Pick 'n Pay are challenging all companies to get involved and support this initiative by providing in kind sponsorship, cash donations or purchasing ‘Heart Charms'.

Commented Tom Boardman, CE of Nedbank, “The Show your hands, Show your Heart campaign not only aligns with our brand promise of caring but it aligns with our passion to being a positive force in bringing about change in South Africa. This initiative is will see hundreds of Nedbank employees getting involved and caring for those that need our help. We are happy to open up our branches to support this worthy cause, encourage people to participate and Make Things Happen on this special day.”'

‘M-Net is committed to let The Magic Touch those women and children in our communities needing a helping hand,” says Koo Govender, M-Net marketing GM.

“Pick ‘n Pay encourages everyone to support this excellent cause and donate an hour or two of their time. By donating a small amount of time, collectively we will make a huge difference. We challenge all other corporates to get involved and help improve the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves,” says Jonathan Ackerman, MD of Pick ‘n Pay.

    Three ways

“There are three ways to show your hands and show your heart to benefit women and children charities this Women's Day,” says Sho-Sho-Lo-Za Marketing.

Donate a few hours by volunteering your hands at a local charity and helping them with their needs. Over 80 national charities have been selected and their needs for volunteers include storytelling, painting, gardening, plumbing, erecting outdoor play areas and many more.

Alternatively, visit any Nedbank Branch from 9 July and donate items that can be used in local charities including gardening tools, wheelbarrows, books, clothing, blankets, toys, non-perishable food items and any second hand goods you have lying around.

The third way you can show your support is to simply purchase a Heart Charm at any Nedbank branch or by making a cash donation at all Pick 'n Pay stores countrywide.
