Marc Lottering presents Naughty Forty at the Market Theatre

The Mother City's favourite comedian, Marc Lottering, returns to Jo'burg fresh from critically acclaimed seasons across the country with his hit one-man show, Naughty Forty, running at the Market Theatre from 1 to 20 September 2009.

Lottering penned the show when he turned forty last year and has since been keeping audiences in stitches as he hilariously explores issues such as how to get the best out of a double chin and deal with the trauma experienced by 40-somethings as they hit the treadmill at the gym. His dance techniques for 40-year olds brings the house down every time and the show also features an appearance by the delightful and ever-popular Auntie Merle Abrahams from Belgravia Road in Athlone.

Marc hails from Cape Town, has won numerous theatre awards and is considered by many to be one of the hottest comics on offer from South Africa. He first burst onto the scene with a self-scripted one-man show in 1997 and since then has performed all over SA and internationally to great acclaim in London, Toronto, Sydney, Auckland and Melbourne. The son of a Pastor, his colourful upbringing is often reflected in his unique brand of comedy that has established him as a firm favourite with so many audiences at home and around the world. With consistent hits like From the Cape Flats With Love, Big Stakes and Slap Chips, and Hallelujah! that was directed by David Kramer, the name Marc Lottering has become synonymous with sell-out seasons wherever he performs.

The previous season of Naughty Forty in Jozi earlier this year was a huge success and Marc is now back by popular demand with his first ever season at the Market Theatre. Shows run from Tuesdays to Saturdays at 8pm and tickets cost from R60 to R110 via Computicket or 083 915 8000. The show is not suitable for children under the age of 18 and advance booking is highly recommended.
