Hear about Al-Anon and its work

Professionals in the Health, Social services, Education and Human Resources sectors are cordially invited to a breakfast to hear how the Al-Anon Programme helps thousands of relatives and friends of alcoholics cope with the effects of alcoholism.
Hear about Al-Anon and its work

Somewhere right now, there is a man, a woman or a child who is tearfully pleading with a loved one to please stop drinking, to please come home after work, or to stop arguing about everything.

Today alcoholism is recognised as a primary progressive disease, which affects the alcoholic physically, emotionally and mentally as it does the members of the family, friends and work colleagues.

The Al-Anon Family Groups offers a mutual support fellowship that offers a programme of recovery to the relatives and friends of alcoholics. We acknowledge that alcoholism affects the family both physically and emotionally.

The Al-Anon programme is based on the 12 step recovery programme of Alcoholics Anonymous and is celebrating 60 years of continuous help and support throughout the world.

Our intention is to inform as many professional personnel of our fellowship and the help we offer. With this purpose in mind you are cordially invited to attend our Public Outreach Breakfast to hear how our programme can help your patients, staff and learners.

Date: Wednesday 14th September 2011

Time: 8.00am for 8.30am
