Protea iron-on badges available
The South African Football Association ending speculation around the lack of Protea badges announced this late last week. The badge was put forward as the best solution to resolve the Protea issue and SAFA believes the restoration of the emblem on the replica jersey will go a long way in consolidating support for the national team.
“adidas assisted us in finding the supplier, Design-a-shirt, who has already started producing these iron-on embroidered badges. Supporters can purchase the badge, at the recommended retail price from R20, from retailers stocking genuine Bafana replica jerseys,” says Leslie Sedibe, chief executive of SAFA.
Consumes have the option to have the badge professionally applied at the retail store or they can apply it themselves. The packaging will have specific application instructions and disclaimers against incorrect usage.
“We believe all South Africans would want to wear their jerseys with pride during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The Bafana replica jersey is the one thing that distinguishes us from the rest of the world and it is therefore important that our identity is authentic,” concludes Sedibe.
