Name the new Renault Scénic

Bored with silly car names? Well, here's your chance to come up with a winner. Renault is looking for a name for its new Scénic and they have invited all South Africans to come up with a catchy name.

A national competition to find a suitable identity for the soon to be launched Scénic kicks off on 8 November and entries close on 29 November 2007.

To join the fun, log onto www.namethenewscenic.co.za and enter the name you think is suitable. The winner will be invited to the vehicle's launch event and naming ceremony in early 2008 and will have the use of an all-new Scénic for one month, compliments of Renault South Africa.

Revealed for the first time at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show, the new 4x2 model was designed with leisure pursuits and the great outdoors in mind, with styling that resembles that of an off-roader.

Renault says the Scénic's 2.0-litre 16V engine and modified chassis, ESP electronic stability programme and ASR traction control, give it an attractive all-terrain character.

A Renault spokesperson said: “The search is on. Find a name that best suits the new Scénic's unique qualities and sense of style and you could be one of the first people in South Africa to get behind the wheel of the car that you have just named.”

The winner - who will be announced on 4 December 2007 - will have his winning name designed into a special logo which will be fitted to all the newly-named models.
