Call for young talent for The Cape Town Show

Twelve 12 young artists, between the ages of 16 and 21 who are passionate about the performing arts and keen to turn their talents into a career, are sought to audition for The Cape Town Show. Auditions will be at The Rainbow Experience on Saturday, 15 May, 2010, between 9am and 6pm.

Applicants should be multi-talented and be confident in singing, acting, dancing and playing a musical instrument.

This is an opportunity for vibrant and enthusiastic performers who do not have the opportunity to study at drama or theatre school, to show off their skills and earn a spot at The Rainbow Academy. Applicants must be available full time and willing to work and learn.

Opportunity to earn while they learn

As part of their commitment to the community, the co-owners of The Rainbow Experience are launching The Rainbow Academy. The idea behind this newly formed performing arts academy is to grow and develop the young talented young of Cape Town under the guidance of Denay Willie. Students will train and then form part of The Cape Town Show. Participants will have the opportunity to earn while they learn in a creative and live entertainment environment. Students will be required to sing, dance, act, play instruments, waitress and act as bartender at the shows. They will also learn and work with technical, backstage, make-up, costumes, writing, stage management and directing. Professional tutors will work with the students, thus creating The Rainbow Academy.

The first show will kick-off on Youth Day, 16 June, and thereafter will take place every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night at The Rainbow Room in Mandela Rhodes Place, Church Street, Cape Town.
