In love with my country

The hype, even before stepping into Cape Town, was indescribable. We did it all like proper South Africans: we caught a taxi into Cape Town and then walked to the Fan Park. Don't be fooled when you get there at 12am and it is empty, because by 2pm you will have nowhere to sit. But sitting in the front on the floor is the best way to do it in my opinion.
In love with my country

The drinks were cheap enough, the people were friendly and the game was full of excitement. When that first goal was scored it was as if someone had shocked everyone in the room, you could feel the wave of pride sweep through the tent. But when the second goal was scored. - well there are simply no words in the dictionary that can describe the atmosphere.

Singing the national anthem

Unfortunately, the screen cut out in the second half, but I know we won in the end and that was pretty much all that mattered to me. Yes, we didn't get through but our boys went a lot further than some thought they would. Even afterwards in Long Street people were still partying and singing Bafana's praises.(Even the foreigners.) You haven't heard anything until you have heard the whole of Long Street singing the national anthem. And now that it's over for our team? Well I can officially say I have never been more in love with my country.
