[BizBuy] Save 52% on a premier room at The Bay Hotel

Cosily situated under the Twelve Apostles mountain range and overlooking the renowned palmed-fringed beach of Camps Bay sits The Bay Hotel. As part of Bizcommunity's BizBuy Lifestyle launch, we experienced the five-star luxury hotel and so can you - Bizcommunity, through BizBuy, is offering our readers the chance to save 52% on a premier room at The Bay Hotel!

Although the location is slap-bang in the middle of the hustle and bustle of trendy Camps Bay, once you turn off Victoria Road into the hotel, you arrive at a peaceful sanctuary that you wish you never have to leave.

From arrival to departure, all guests are treated like royalty. The staff makes sure guests know their way around and offer refreshments around every corner.

Part of the hotel is the historic Rotunda, which dates back to 1904, originally built for use as a concert hall with a pavilion that served as a ballroom, a theatre, a roller-skating rink, an exhibition hall and a venue for church services.

These days, the Rotunda serves as a conference and exhibition venue and also accommodates a wide variety of functions such as product launches, cocktail parties, fashion shows, weddings and banquets.

A room with a view

The hotel comprises 78 rooms and suites offering classic, mountain, club classic, premier mountain, premier pool, premier sea, cabana and luxury rooms; suites and a penthouse.

Our room, one of the premier sea rooms, was lovely - complete with a private balcony and a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean. Although we sadly missed the sunset, it would no doubt have been a picturesque moment from the balcony.

For wining and dining there are a few options to choose from: Tides Restaurant, The Pool Café, Sandy B Private Beach Club, Traders bar and cigar lounge and The Mussel Bar (which, during winter is only open for special occasions like 21sts, cocktail parties and weddings).

Our three-course dinner at Tides Restaurant was very satisfying. For appetizers, we had the Franschhoek salmon tempura nori rolls and baby calamari respectively; the Fishermans Stew - which is a masterpiece of fresh fish, prawns, stuffed calamari, sautéed potato with black field mushrooms in a saffron fish fumet - for mains; and the baked cheesecake, served with marshmallows and fresh passion fruit, and the home-made chocolate, berry and banana ice cream with chocolate sauce, for dessert.

Breakfasts, which are included in the price of the rooms, are in the form of a buffet with fresh fruits, muffins, croissants, and so the list goes on. If preferred, warm meals can also be ordered.

The spectacular view from the breakfast room is complimented by beautiful artwork and great service - a perfect start to the day, and a great send off as we prepared to check out.

Facilities

Apart from the perfect location, The Bay Hotel offers a 24-hour tourism centre, a gift shop, wi-fi, four pools, a gym, Shahieda's Hair Salon and a Mint Wellness spa.

At the spa, guests have many treatments to choose from ranging from massages, facials and body wraps to hand & foot treatments and day packages for a whole day of pampering. If you want to relax and unwind, we would highly recommend the AromaVine massage.
