Managing director Jaco Robbertse says this is the second year in a row that Ulysses has won this award, and the third time in the past five years.
The Tshwane Tourism Awards are made annually by the executive mayor of the City of Tshwane to top tourism businesses in the city in various categories.
The recent awards evening coincided with the annual Tshwane Trade and Infrastructure Investment Conference.
"We have just celebrated our fourteenth year in business," says Robbertse, "and June 2010 - World Cup month - was our busiest month ever, with a 60% increase in turnover compared to June last year. Our most popular tours were to Soweto, the Pilanesberg National Park and Cullinan, as well as the Pretoria city tour."
Robbertse says the tourism market in Pretoria truly showed its potential during the World Cup and now needs to be developed further. "We fully support the initiatives of the Tshwane Tourism Action Team and plan to play a meaningful role in the future of tourism in the city."
Ulysses Tours and Safaris, apart from its fleet of cars, limousines and minibuses, also operates two purple open-top party buses in the city.
