Rocking The Rockwell
The Rockwell feels more like a trendy New York apartment block than a hotel. Each of the 143 suites comes with one or two spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge plus balcony with some spectacular views of the CBD, harbour and stadium.
The hotel has a very modern urban feel to it, incorporating raw red brick, tempered steel and glass in the overall exterior design that is complemented with a warm, comfortable and contemporary interior. It also boasts a fairly decent-sized indoor swimming pool, gym and restaurant. We were treated to breakfast and though the actual restaurant is fairly modest it spills out onto patio area behind the hotel and offers buffet as well as cooked breakfasts.
The location can't be beaten, having an abundance of restaurants, clubs, bars, and upmarket stores only a few steps away, and the Cape Town Stadium and V&A Waterfront only a brief walk away.
The Rockwell is classy and sophisticated as well as being trendy and urban, and is a great home away from home for cosmopolitan travellers.
