Stoke trumps Arsenal

Arsenal became the latest victims from the Premier League elite to be knocked out of the FA Cup early. As Ricardo Fuller's double strike, combined with a Dean Whitehead goal, gave Stoke City a well-deserved 3-1 win over Arsenal on Sunday.

In pre-match talks, Fuller pointed out Arsenal's weakness in dealing with physical opponents, which proved to be right as their defence struggled to deal with Rory Delap's trademark long throws into the 14-yard box. Arsenal drew level, thanks to a Denilson strike that deflected off two Stoke defenders. But Fuller, who scored a double against Arsenal last season, seemed to repeat history by heading past Arsenal's Fabianski in the 78th minute.

Wenger insisted that he had no regrets about the team he selected, as Arsenal has many league games coming up.

"I wanted to win this game and I don't regret the team I picked. I did not have much choice. If you look at our schedule it's simply that you cannot always play with the same 11," he said.
