Registration for second round periodisation course now open

The World Football Academy South Africa (WFA SA) has announced that it has opened registrations for the second round of periodisation coaching courses with renowned periodisation expert Raymond Verheijen in January 2013.

The course has been scheduled at a time when football in South Africa will be at the forefront of peoples' minds making it practical and accessible to current and aspiring coaches, trainers, medical experts, analysts and sports students from around the continent to attend.

The periodisation course serves to supplement the tactical and technical aspects of football coaching through basic and advanced requirements of team and individual periodisation at the introductory level. There are 60 slots available for the course that is to be held from the 21-23 January 2013.

Follow-up specialist course

Delegates that have received certification at the courses that launched the WFA SA in July 2012, will be presented with an opportunity to further their 'studies' through the specialist course that will address periodisation in more detail with regard to youth, rehabilitation and growth in addition to team and individual requirements.

This course is scheduled to take place from 24-26 January 2013. Both courses will take place the Sturrock Park Sports Conference Centre at the Wits University Braamfontein Campus in Johannesburg. The course fee is R3 900.

Previous graduates of the course include representatives of Ajax Cape Town, Bidvest Wits, Supersport United, Sundowns F.C, Chippa United, local academies as well as up and coming coaches from around the country and even a representative from Namibia.

Requests to attend the courses must be received by 30 November 2012. For more information on the courses and registration forms, go to www.simsport.co.za.
