Umkhanyakude hosts Women's Football Conference
According to Allafrica.com, the Umkhanyakude district in KwaZulu Natal successfully hosted a Women's Football development conference in which stakeholders looked for ways to benefit the development of girls' and women's football in the district.
Representatives from the South African Football Association (SAFA), the South African Schools Football Association (SASFA), the Department of Sport and Recreation, and the Department of Education attended the conference - which was hosted by the Women's Football Committee.
The LdB FC for Life programme aims to strengthen girls' health through football. Over the last four years, it has been an important part of developing girl's football in UMkhanyakude. The Women's Football development conference, and similar regional visits, form a major part of the Women's Football programme. Allafrica.com reports that U15 girls' teams were on-hand to play practice matches and help to identify talented football players among the attending young women and girls.
