Milanos come out victorious at second round of Castle Africa 5s tournament
The second Castle Africa five-a-side qualifying tournament took place on Saturday with 16 teams competing at Rustic Indoors in Fourways. The 16 teams came with the eye on the prize, an opportunity to go through to the national final being held at the Rand Show from Wednesday, 4, to Saturday, 7 April 2018.

Milanos were the victorious team after battling it out with other teams. The games ended at 16h30 after the teams had to go into penalty shootout. Milanos beat Royal Lakes 2-0 after penalties and confirmed their spot in the final.
To stand a chance of winning the South African event five-a-side teams need to compete in one of the remaining five qualifying tournaments being held in the run-up to this year’s Rand Show. Entry to the qualifiers costs R1,000 per five-a-side team with prize money of R5,000 up for grabs at each qualifier.
Billed as Africa’s largest amateur five-a-side football tournament Castle Africa 5s boasts the ultimate prize with the winners of the continental tournament walking away with an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia in the company of Samuel Eto.
Don’t miss your shot at the prize. There are four other mini tournaments taking place in Gauteng during the month of March. Get your friends together and create your own amateur five-a-side team, there are a few spots left.
