What's on the runway at the 2019 Free State Fashion Week

The 2019 Free State Fashion Week will be held at the Sun Windmill in Bloemfontein from 19 to 21 September.

With this year’s theme, ‘Our Roots Conquer', designers have been challenged to go beyond what is usual, regular or customary as they are marked to conquer through their African heritage.

The event is expected to offer diverse lifestyle items and accessories by designers within the province as well as top talent and entertainers from the Free State and the rest of South Africa.

    What’s on the runway?

Free State Fashion Week Exhibition allows Free State designers and craftsmen a platform to display their arts and crafts, clothing designs and jewellery throughout the Mimosa Mall for a week.

The Face of Free State Fashion Week is a mentorship programme seeking for young women to be the ambassador and community agent for CSI projects – which include an education drive, a sanitary pad drive and other women empowerment initiatives.

Free State Fashion Week masterclasses and the Business of Fashion were created to elevate and have open honest discussions from designers and industry experts on how to elevate the Free State fashion industry; building a brand; equipping designers with business acumen and addressing some key issue and find solutions.

The Free State Fashion Week Runway shows will be hosted at the Sun Windmill Conference Centre over the three days.
