IndieGogo campaign launched to raise funds for new Roland Albertson album

Roland Albertson has spent the past 10 years making music without a budget and giving his music away to his fans for free. Dubbing his music "Fresh acoustic surf rock - a blend of sun, surf, rock and rhythm", Albertson needs help raising funds for his next album.
IndieGogo campaign launched to raise funds for new Roland Albertson album

He has always dreamed of surrounding himself with world-class professionals and recording a full-length, studio album. His aim is to make the best music he can and create an album that can help him expand his fan base and make waves in the international scene.

Setting an example in a generation of DIY musicians, Albertson has launched an IndieGogo campaign (a popular crowd-funding platform) where his fans can make a pledge towards his album. In return all "funders" can select from a range of exclusive perks depending on the amount contributed.

Unfortunately, the project will only proceed if he reaches his funding goal within the time limit, ending on 27 March. Opting for a "fixed funding" option in which all contributions are fully refunded if the funding target is not met is a risk free approach for his fans.

Despite this, he's already started working with producer Rogers Masson (Vintage Trouble, Lilyphone) and plans to record the album at Peace of Eden studio in Knysna in August this year.

He is also passionate about the ocean and has decided to donate 10% of funds raised for the album to Shark Warrior and its parent NGO, AfriOceans, dedicated to shark conservation in South Africa and the world. A brave move, making his funding goal bigger than it needs to be, but showing where his values lie.

To help Albertson make this album, please make a pledge on his IndieGogo campaign page (before 27 March) and become a part of his incredible story at http://igg.me/at/onlythebrave.
