New MFSA boss named ''Managing Director of the Year''
Mpho Makwana, who was last Monday unveiled as the first CEO-designate of the Marketing Federation of Southern Africa (MFSA), was last night named as the AdFocus "Managing Director of the Year".
Makwana, the current CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi, will join the MFSA on 1 July 2003.
Referring to the prestigious accolade conferred upon Makwana last night, Davy Ivins, the MFSA's acting-CEO, said this indicated that "the ideal candidate was stepping into the MFSA hot-seat".
"It certainly indicates the esteem with which the MFSA is held in the industry for a person of Makwana's outstanding calibre to join our organisation. The MFSA applauds Makwana's triumph at the AdFocus Awards and looks forward to the stewardship that he will provide to Southern Africa's largest marketing body," stated Ivins.
Makwana was deemed to be "brilliant at attracting and keeping top-level black talent" and at showing exceptional leadership abilities.
