SARS and taxpayers set to join hands

At Biznetwork on Wednesday, 15 March 2006, SARS will engage with its business target market when Leonard Radebe, general manager for operations at SARS, and Franz Tomasek, assistant general manager for legislation, will discuss business tax with Bernard du Plessis, a tax director at Sonnenberg Hoffmann Galombik. This is part of SARS' communication objective of interacting with stakeholders and building constructive partnerships with representative organisations.

"We hope this kind of engagement, particularly around the amnesty the minister announced, will remove the animosity and uncertainty among taxpayers about the process," says Radebe. The Minister of Finance made comprehensive determinations in the budget that will impact, in particular, on the small business sector.

"The priority for SARS for the year ahead is to communicate tax policy and administrative changes to businesses," adds Radebe.

This topic, as well as others relating to tax and businesses, will be discussed at Biznetwork, a learning and networking club for business owners, held at select Ster-Kinekor cinemas. For more information, contact 0860 010 151 or visit www.biznetwork.co.za.
