These headline announcements and unveilings were made at a two-day media launch on 11 and 12 October, that was superbly staged by Outlaw Events out of the Fancourt Hotel in George.
Apart from the spectacular launch parties for H3 and Cadillac, Outlaw Events also staged two Ride and Drives for media to put first the Cadillac and then the Hummer through their paces. It was to aid with these events, that the company enlisted the assistance of events, parties and experiences company Loudfire to create designer rest-stops to entertain these VIP guests en route.
Day one saw media driving out from Fancourt to Oudtshoorn via the Robertston Pass. At the Pass they were greeted by a highly stylised retro lounge, celebrating the theme "Cadillac Travels First Class" and created by Loudfire beneath an arresting red freestyle Bedouin tent. Here guests were entertained in first class fashion, with food and beverages provided by the supremely capable Fancourt team. On their return to George, via the Outeniqua Pass, they were again treated to refreshments at yet another roadside designer lounge created by Loudfire.
Day two's theme was The Big 6, with the H3 starring as the newest addition to the traditional Big 5, and was a far more rugged affair than the previous day. For this occasion Loudfire produced an outdoor guest experience that paid fitting tribute to this impressive vehicle. This time the company created and styled a complete venue for a sit-down African Banquet for a guest list of 75, comprising local and international top brass from GM & GM South Africa and of course the VIP media guests.
Says Philippa Thompson, Loudfire's project manager on this event: "Cadillac and Hummer are such iconic brands and the announcements made at these launches were so exciting and important, that we felt really privileged to be invited to play a role in this project. Working with Outlaw Events was an absolute pleasure as usual and we enjoyed the complete experience from start to finish."
