    iNova pharmaceuticals launch new South African head office

    JOHANNESBURG: iNova Pharmaceuticals last week launched their new South African head office situated in Bedfordview, Johannesburg. iNova Pharmaceuticals country manager, Dr Irwin Juckes officially opened the offices at a red ribbon cutting ceremony attended by iNova Pharmaceuticals directors based in Sydney, Australia, local partners, stakeholders and the media.

    In his address at the office launch, Dr Juckes, who was appointed country manager in 2007, reported on the rapid growth the company has experienced since 2006 with the increase in human resources from 20 staff to 34 in 2009. In addition, he said that company sales figures have enjoyed a 65% increase since 2006.

    iNova Pharmaceuticals was formed in 2006 as a result of the purchase of 3M Pharmaceuticals Asia Pacific and South Africa by two Australian private equity firms.

    Dr Juckes highlighted recent product introductions including the local launch of Duro-Tuss Linctus, a new formulation, developed for the effective relief of coughs, in the iNova laboratory in Australia specifically for the South African market. “The past year has also seen the introduction of three product line extensions, including Andolex C, Andolex C Spray and an additional two throat lozenger flavours,” added Juckes.

    “We look forward to meeting the challenges we face with vigour and I have every faith that with the drive and determination of the iNova team, which comprises highly trained and experienced individuals, we will develop iNova into one the leading brands in the pharmaceutical arena in South Africa,” he concluded.
