New South African band on JägerMusic website

Jägermeister has taken note of the trend of users to rely on digital platforms for their music and, through its JägerMusic website, gives music fans and Jäger bands a chance to interact. Its latest offering Stepdog, a three-piece band from Stellenbosch, has music, videos, band information, pictures and desktop backgrounds available to fans plus a link to the band's website for a free download of its debut offering, entitled Amy After Dark.

"The website offers bands a platform to give fans all the latest information regarding their music, performances and themselves," says Jarrod Steward, Jägermeister brand manager at DGB. The JägerMusic programme, similar to the one offered to international bands overseas, gives the company the opportunity to work with and support some of the best bands in the country. The bands are offered tour sponsorship, marketing collateral and performing opportunities at various branded events.

"The digital route is where music is going and we decided to give away the album in gratitude to the fantastic response from our fans who downloaded Angie back in October," says Jonathan Velthuysen, the front man of Stepdog. The band's six track EP features the Top Five hit, Angie, which is currently receiving extensive radio airplay.

Jägermeister has long been a supporter of South African bands, with Van Coke Kartel, Autoplay, Ashtray Electric, All Forlorn, Cavalier and Foto naDans forming part of its offering to fans. For more information, go to www.jagermusic.co.za or www.stepdog.co.za.
