Piegl (@Piegl has 13 years of media experience, a decade of those spent working his way up the ladder of local men's lifestyle magazine FHM as picture editor, managing editor and motoring editor. The title is currently recruiting for various positions.

Founded in 1953, Playboy magazine is claimed to be the best-selling monthly men's magazine in the world, based on the combined circulation of its US and international editions. Each licensed international edition is locally produced and based on the tastes, trends and sensitivities of individual markets. Worldwide, more than 15 million people are said to read the title each month.

"Engaging, thoughtful and provocative"

"Playboy South Africa will offer readers the engaging, thoughtful and provocative content that has made Playboy magazine the gold standard for award-winning journalism," comments Playboy's David Walker, SVP and publishing and editorial director, International Publishing.

"We are thrilled to bring Playboy to South Africa, and look forward to continuing the magazine's tradition of excellence with cutting-edge journalism and high-quality photography," says Johann Botha, head of Sciofon. "We are confident that premium brands will welcome this new opportunity to align themselves with Playboy to reach affluent, well-educated South African consumers."
