New magazine to target IT decision makers

From November 2004, the Financial Mail, in partnership with Johnnic Communication Media's Computing SA, will begin publishing CIO Africa, an affiliate of the leading US information systems management title, CIO.

CIO is published by International Data Group, which has 300 titles in its stable spanning 85 countries. These titles reach more than 120 million technology buyers, representing 95% of worldwide IT spend.

CIO Africa, which will be available in South Africa and Nigeria, will be a hard-hitting, informative and opinionated magazine tailored to meeting the needs of Africa's information executives. It will address the issues vital to the success of IT and business leaders and provide chief information officers, IT directors and other executives with a better understanding of the role IT plays in achieving corporate and strategic goals.

The publication will appear quarterly and will initially be available free of charge to all Financial Mail subscribers. It will also be distributed via selected retail outlets. Several thousand copies will also be available in Nigeria.

The Editor is Duncan McLeod.
